The following is important information regarding the submission of your presentation for the 2020 International Dementia Conference – Care in the Age of Outrage.

The deadline to submit presentations is Monday 18 May 2020. Detailed instructions for presentations are included below.

Speaker registration rate

One day: $499

Two days: $850

 

Useful to know

  • The opening plenary will include an overview of key facts and statistics so you may prefer not to repeat these in your presentations.
  • Our delegates at the conference will include people living with dementia and carers. The Dementia Centre have put together some language guidelines to assist you in preparing your presentation.

Presentation instructions

All presentations are due to us by Monday 18 May 2020.
  • All presentations must be made in PowerPoint. No other software such as Keynote will be accepted.

  • Projectors are in widescreen format 16:9 ratio. We will provide you with templates to assist you to set up your presentation in this format. There is also a widescreen guide you can read through. Your attention to this would be appreciated.

Youtube
  • Please be aware that this will open in a browser which will be immersion breaking and requires user interaction for full screen etc.
  • If the video contains ads or annotations, they should be turned off when the video loads: click the settings cog, Annotations: OFF.
Embedded Videos and audio
  • Please embed to streamline slide progression

  • Presenters must provide a copy of any video or audio content regardless of how it is embedded along with their presentation (if it is fully embedded, still provide a separate copy of it in case we run into issues). File format: AVI or MPG4 format for video. WMA or MP3 for audio.

Saving - naming conventions
  • Presentations should be saved in PPTX (preferred) with presenters name as part of your filename to make identification easier. Eg Carla Messer Conference Management Techniques
Testing prior to submission
  • Please ensure your presentation is tested in a Windows environment, prior to handover to the Dementia Centre for verification.
