Dementia Doesn't Exist

Featured

Presentation Description

In this session I will argue that the symptom-based fashion for diagnosing neurodegenerative brain diseases is now outdated with the 21st Century capacity to measure these diseases directly using biomarkers. This pivot will ensure that better treatments, early detection and risk modification will be possible for earlier stages of the disease. The field is being failed by the out-dated concept of dementia in both a clinical and research sense.
