There is so much research proving the benefits of music and reminiscence therapy for those living with dementia. The UK is leading the way with doctors now prescribing music under the NHS. The real question is how can we provide this efficiently and effectively in residential aged care and in home care?
Moove & Groove is now supporting staff and families by providing a world first program marrying wireless headphone technology with access to music and listening options.
With the recent COVID crisis reminiscing video content has also been added to the platform.
The program has been successfully rolled out in over 100 organisations across Australia in under 12 months and this has been largely driven by clinical care managers. We have some very interesting data to share with you about the positive impact it is having for dementia care. Staff are equipped with a tool to manage dementia behaviours that is varied and flexible. Staff are able to offer meaningful options in other languages and as well as spiritual preferences easily improving residents' quality of life.
We have proven we can successfully train staff remotely, engage residents and families plus offer person-centred care for all residents and those living at home. It works well for both isolated residents and group listening.
