Is there an opportunity for students to attend?

Yes, there is a student rate available ($750 2-days, $450 1-day).

Please email conference@dementia.com.au for more information about how to access student rates on the registration site.

There will also be a limited number of bursary positions offered to students. Head to our bursaries page to check your eligibility and apply.

Are there bursaries available?

Applications for bursaries have now closed. If you are a student we encourage you to register at the student rate of

  • $750 (two day rate) or
  • $450 (one day rate)

Please contact us at conference@dementia.com.au to access this rate. You will need to supply a current student ID.

Supported rates for carers

All of the supported rates for IDC2024 have been accessed, if you would like to go on the waitlist, please email conference@dementia.com.au and our team will assist you.

Will there be a virtual component?

No, attendance at IDC2024 is in-person only.

Does the Hilton offer special room rates for conference attendees?

Yes! The Hilton Sydney is offering our conference attendees a special discounted rate. Rates are only available for travel surrounding conference dates. Please be aware that rooms do book out quickly! Click here for more information, or call the Hilton on +1300 445 866 and quote the code G10DYN.

Is there an early bird rate?

Yes, the early bird rate closed on 31 May.

Can I attend the Aged Care Reforms symposium or the Cottage Tour?

Sorry both the Aged Care Reforms breakfast symposium and the Cottage Tours are now sold out.

Is there support for people with dementia?

If you are a person living with dementia, please contact us at conference@dementia.com.au to ensure we can support you.

Where can I find information on the Hilton?

The International Dementia Conference 2024 is taking place at the Hilton Sydney, located on George Street in the heart of Sydney city.

The Hilton is easily accessible via public transport, including a light rail from Central Station and Circular Quay stopping in front of the building. The venue is a short walk from Town Hall train station and readily accessible by bus.

What happens if I need to cancel or change my registration?

Cancellations received in writing on or before 31 July 2024 will be refunded, less a 25% cancellation fee. No refunds will be made after this date for any reason.

Registrations can be transferred to another delegate free of charge any time on or before Monday, 2 September 2024. Please contact the conference team to arrange this.

Is there a networking event?

Yes, this is on the evening of Day 1 of the conference and is a separate ticketed event in Zeta Bar. The price is $110. Just select this as an option when you register.

Will there be certificates of registration provided?

A certificate of registration will be provided to the name registered to attend. We encourage you to keep a detailed log of the sessions you attend for any professional development requirements.

Can I submit an abstract or ePoster?

We are no longer accepting abstracts for concurrent presentations at IDC but you can still submit an ePoster. The deadline to submit your ePoster is 5pm AEST Friday 2 August 2024. Visit this link to browse themes and submit:

When can I register for IDC2024?

Early bird registrations open on Monday 15 April and end on Friday 31 May 2024. Full price registrations will be available from Saturday 1 June 2024.
