Presentation design and layout

  • Use this PPT template for your ePoster presentation

  • Save your ePoster as a PDF, using the naming style of LastName_FirstName_Title

  • Your ePoster should be A0 poster size in portrait layout (2384 x 3370 pixels @72 dpi)

  • Your ePoster is a visual presentation of your submitted abstract

  • Try and make it well thought out and visually appealing, with a balance of text, graphics and neutral space - avoiding too much clutter

  • The movement or pathway of the eye through the presentation should be natural - down columns and along rows

  • Use photos or graphics, but avoid using too many images or those that are not clearly linked to the topic

  • If you are using figures or graphs, a short heading and legends are essential

Font recommendations

  • Use upper and lower case for general content as the use of ALL-CAPITAL text is difficult to read
  • Avoid using a mixture of font styles
  • Minimum recommended font size is 22 pt - e.g. footers or references
  • Recommended title size is 70 pt
  • Recommended heading size is 54 pt
  • Recommended body text is 40 pt
  • Sans serif fonts like Arial or Tahoma are easy to read

Content

Your ePoster is your opportunity to represent your abstract in a clear, readily understandable visual format.

Use the title you used in your abstract submission and list all presenters and the name of the institution or the organisation where the work was completed.

Make it easy for people to take away your key message or findings through the use of:

  • Simple, clear and concise language – in English

  • Messages that are easy to understand on their own, not requiring further explanation

  • Visual aids like graphs, images or icons

Avoid:

  • Large blocks of text

  • Long, complex sentences for example detailed methods and results

  • Long tables of data

  • Acronyms, abbreviations and jargon

Video and audio content

  • Video and audio files embedded inside the PowerPoint file/PDF will NOT play on the ePoster display kiosks, if you would like to include video or audio in your presentation, please email them as separate files and include a placeholder section within the PowerPoint/PDF that refers to the name of the video file

  • Provide videos as an MP4, min @ 720p, landscape or portrait. Landscape videos will display black bars at the top and bottom of the screen

  • In person video viewing - the display kiosk for ePosters doesn’t support audio, so please ensure any video content has captions

  • Online video viewing - ePosters can be accessed online or via the conference app, where viewers will be able to hear the audio
